'I do not trust in myself. I do not boast in my abilities or believe in my own strength. I rely solely on the power of God. I compete for the pleasure of my Heavenly Father, the honor of Christ, and the reputation of the Holy Spirit.'
God has given me the abilities to do what I can do. Because of that, I trust in Him. Furthermore, because of his grace, I can boast in my abilities no more than I can boast for His salvation. In both cases, it's a gift!!!
I think that too often, athletes get so caught up in the competition between each other and themselves, that they truly forget where all of this has come from. I can only do what God allows me to do AND I must do so according to His will.
To me it's a pleasure racing and having others see me wearing the colors of FCA Endurance and that they know that I'm competing for Christ. Not that I want glory because of that, but because others might ask, 'So what's this all about.' Sharing in the Good News is what this is all about.
Let's all give Him glory when we're racing, training, working, or whatever we do. Let's do it for the honor of Christ and always be prepared to know that others may be watching and that the reputation of the Holy Spririt must always be foremost in our minds.
Until next time... For His Glory,
Paul
THE CENTRAL PA ENDURANCE HUDDLE, a community ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is a group of competitive AND recreational runners, cyclists, triathletes, etc... in ALL ranges of abilities. We are located in and around the Central PA area and our purpose is to go out and share the message of Jesus Christ with other endurance athletes.
We are not a running or cycling club, but rather a group of Christians that share a passion for endurance activities and want to share the Good News with others in the endurance community.
There are so many lost sheep out there and while it would be great to minister to everyone, FCA Endurance provides a way to minister to a particular group that shares the same interests as the members of this huddle. Imagine... wouldn't it great if the endurance athletes that we reach out to go back to their other friends and families. In that instance, we will be affecting others as well!!!
In addition to meeting and fellowshipping with each other, training together, and training with others, the members of the huddle will attend races wearing the colors; either competing or volunteering.
We would love to meet you and pray that you would become part of the huddle and FCA Endurance. More importantly, we pray that your relationship with God and His Son, Jesus Christ, becomes greater in your life and that you have an opportunity to share it with others.
Please continue to visit the blog for general updates about the huddle, meeting schedules, training runs/rides, and where the huddle members might be racing or volunteering.
I pray that others will become a member and help impact the world for Jesus Christ!

I thank God every time I get out to run for the ability and opportunity to do so.
